Join artist Elizabeth Pyle of Bottle Branch stationery for an immersive floral experience!
She’ll guide participants through the process of arranging and photographing a botanical flat lay, a popular technique where objects are arranged on a flat surface and photographed from above. Flat lays with flowers, leaves and other natural elements have enduring popularity and appeal, and form the basis of the art of Bottle Branch.
Enjoy the best of late summer blooms as you try your hand at your own botanical flat lay!
We'll start by wandering the flower field and grabbing dahlias, celosias, cosmos, wild grasses, and more. Elizabeth will guide you through arranging and designing your own flat lay on a white board, exploring elements of design and considering color, shape and texture. You’ll then learn how to best photograph your flat lay, experimenting with natural and artificial light.
Participants should bring a phone or digital camera they are comfortable using, as the photography component of the workshop will focus on lighting and setting up the shot.
You will go home with new skills, a white board to continue your flat lay practice at home, the flowers you harvested, and incredible photos to share!
This is a rain or shine event. Ticket sales are final - no refunds will be issued.
